Hiker's huts

An original accommodation

A hikers' hut is a cosy, pleasant and functional place to stay. Furthermore, it is a cheap form of accommodation. The Zilvermeer has five hikers' huts of 15 m² each.

You can also find hikers' huts at 14 other campsites in the region of Kempen.

Fully equipped

Each hut is equipped with a table, chairs, beds, and a simple method of cooking. This gives you the great advantage that you do not have to bring a tent, sleeping mats or camping stove with you; a sleeping bag and pillowcase are sufficient. Furthermore, there is heating available in the well-insulated huts, so that you do not have to suffer from any cold in the low season.

There is no place for washing or going to the toilet in the huts themselves, but the sanitary provisions of the recreation centre are excellent. Pets are not allowed.

Regular events are organised in Zilvermeer. We always try to keep any disruption this might cause to other visitors or our guests at a minimum. In 2013 Pennenzakkenrock and Trezart (the international street art festival) might turn into quite a noisy affair, so please take this into account and, if necessary, book for a different period.

Pennenzakkenrock: Thursday 27 June 2013, with setting up about 1 week beforehand and taking down until 30 June.
Trezart: weekend of 14-15 September 2013, with setting up about 1 week beforehand and taking down until 20 September.

Summer activities

In the summer months we offer our guests a varied activities programme; for more information, contact the activity desk. Only individual visitors or families can book the activities programme.

Upon request, an adapted programme is available for groups. The programme must be booked at least two weeks in advance, depending on the staff members/activity leaders we can place at your disposal at that time.

Library – Free Internet

The Zilvermeer park has its own library with a wide range of comics for the young and old, children’s books and novels. Membership is free, each lent book costs only ten eurocents per lending period. Borrowers are allowed to borrow five books and/or ten comics, for a 15-day lending period, which can be renewed once for another fifteen days. For more information, see the Zilvermeer library rules.

The library is located near the activity desk in the administrative building. During opening hours you can also surf the internet for free in the library; see the rules for more information. To surf the internet with your own laptop in the camping site’s sanitary buildings, the camping site reception will give you a password.
