Bivouac

Het bivakgebouw van het Zilvermeer

Online booking

For schools and larger groups the bivouac building is the ideal place to stay.
The building, situated in a peaceful area, is organised to be able to receive up to 50 people. You can find the sports provisions and the playground in the immediate vicinity.

Tip: on request, you can get together around a real campfire!

Pets are not allowed, for hygienic reasons.

Layout

The bivouac consists of:

  • large living room with movable furniture
  • separate fully-equipped kitchen
  • 2 wash areas with showers and toilets
  • 2 dormitories and 4 separate bedrooms for accompanying staff

Zilver classes

Natuurstudie: waterschep

In the Zilver classes (nature classes) one or two classes (max. 50 participants) study the themes of the forest, water and sand during a school week at Zilvermeer. You stay in the bivouac building.

The students don't just learn a bit about nature, they 'experience' it. This experience-led approach is one of the strengths of Zilvermeer and the De Goren Ecocentre (see below), which is very closely involved with these Zilver classes.

Nature education in the De Goren Ecocentre

Natuurstudie: waterloeppotje

You could summarise the aims of the De Goren Ecocentre as being to make nature accessible again for everyone. Through various activities, nature is brought closer to people (and vice versa).

At De Goren we regularly put on new themed exhibitions, which constantly excel through a somewhat unusual approach

As well as themed exhibitions there are ongoing group activities for children and adults, nature walks and so on.

Planned large events

Regular events are organised in Zilvermeer. We always try to keep any disruption this might cause to other visitors or our guests at a minimum. In 2013 Pennenzakkenrock and Trezart (the international street art festival) might turn into quite a noisy affair, so please take this into account and, if necessary, book for a different period.

Pennenzakkenrock: Thursday 27 June 2013, with setting up about 1 week beforehand and taking down until 30 June.
Trezart: weekend of 14-15 September 2013, with setting up about 1 week beforehand and taking down until 20 September.
