Autumn plant day

For more than 20 years, true plant enthusiasts have gathered twice a year at Arboretum Kalmthout for the traditional Plant days. In this time this arrangement has grown into a true plant festival with the hardy garden plant as the guest of honour. The autumn plant day is on the first Sunday in October each year.

Paradise for plant enthusiasts

What plant is this?

The autumn plant day at Arboretum Kalmthout is paradise for anyone who loves plants and gardening. The theme of the whole day is garden plants.

Free guided walks

Lots of people at the plant day

Take the opportunity to wander around the 12 hectare arboretum garden. It is a true journey of discovery around the fascinatingly diverse world of plants, at that time full of autumn colour and rich in fruits, berries and seeds. The many Japanese maples and spindle trees are in their autumn splendour, while ornamental apples and climbing roses are covered in colourful blooms. You will find inspiration for your own garden and can admire fully-grown plants that you might find as young plants on one of the stalls.

Between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. our guides will take you on a pleasant autumn walk around the collection. Interspersed with anecdotes and historical facts, they will tell you about the plants and the landscape architecture.
